Our Traffic Operations and TIM professionals have extensive experience in comprehensive program development at the regional, state, and local level. Our services include:
Drive is providing comprehensive statewide Traffic and Incident Management Support Services for the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Projects include the development, deployment, and maintenance of a statewide E-Learning program for Pennsylvania’s SHRP2 Traffic Incident Management training. As part of this contract, the Drive team also provided TIM training to internal and external stakeholders as well as Standard Operating Guidelines for the Turnpike Traffic Operations Center and training video production for Turnpike maintenance personnel.
Drive is also a key team member for the Pennsylvania Traffic Incident Management Enhancement (PennTIME) program, a traffic safety effort launched by PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Dive is currently providing administrative and organizational oversight for this project.
Additional projects include: development of a gas distribution program and other service enhancements for the PTC Safety Patrol Program; review of Traffic Management Plans; development of best practices for Authorized Service Providers related to Turnpike customer service and billing; TIM training to internal and external stakeholders; development of TIM Guidelines and the overall TIM Program; modernization of the PTC’s “Plan X” detour program; facilitation of incident After Action Reviews; and assisting during activations of the Turnpike Command Center and PEMA.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and Penn State University partnered to explore and advance PennSTART, a state-of-the-art training and testing facility to address the transportation safety and operational needs of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic Region. Drive provided support for the development of a Concept of Operations document for PennSTART, including the management of stakeholder engagement and meeting coordination. Additional work includes support in the development of system requirements and business plan documentation.
Drive coordinated outreach and information gathering with emergency responder stakeholders related to the Integrated Corridor Management/Hard Shoulder Running project on I-76. Drive reviewed plans and applied them to the development of operational response scenarios, coordinated meetings and presentation materials, and served as an information conduit between the responder community and design engineers.
Drive was responsible for managing the operational staffing support for the PennDOT Statewide Transportation Management Center in Harrisburg. Drive provided statewide congestion monitoring, enhancement of traveler information (Social Media, County Radio and CADS, Multi-Media outlets), management of PennDOT’s Road Condition Reporting System (RCRS) and Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS). Additionally, Drive assisted area command/PSP/PEMA with situational awareness in major incidents and developed predicative traffic modeling.
Drive oversees the updates for the Transportation Management Center Standard Operating Guidelines (SOP) and the development of new SOP documents as requested by NYSDOT. Drive assisted the HVTMC with the review and selection process for a new ITS asset management and maintenance tracking database. Future projects include development of a Systems Administration Manual, which will also include updates to SOP’s as related to systems and field environments.
